ReplyDeleteSome of hte players are being banned from the game because they are playing pirated games or promoting racism, profanity and other things. i think that yes they do because it is not fair to the other people that follow the law. i think that it depends on the crime for how long that should be banned. yes i do because it might make people think twice before they do things like this.

I believe that they do deserve to be punished and banned for doing this because people worked hard on these games and deserve to be paid for there work.I think about a month would be good, but if they do it again maybe more like a year or so. That probably will reduce the # of pirated games but I don't think it's a severe enough punishment to stop all of the pirating.

ReplyDeletePlayers are being banned from Xbox Live because people are downloading games from public sharing sites and playing them on their modified console. The players that download their games from the internet deserved to be banned, others that have a modified system but use it to back up the games they can prove they legally purchase do not deserve to be banned. A ban for a couple of months for the first offense of playing pirated games would be justice, but the second offense is permanent. I do think this will help reduce the number of pirated games because about everyone who owns the game, at one point, will begin playing online, and if they are banned they cannot play.

ReplyDeletePlayers are being banned because they are illegally downloading the game and playing them on modified xboxs, both of those things are illegal. I think they deserve to be banned because it is illegal and they aren't being fined for it so they deserve to be banned permanently. I don't think it would change anything because I play with with people who have done that and they joke and laugh about how many people do it and how many they actually ban.

Because people were downloading illegal copies of CoDMW2 and modifying there Xbox so they can play it.
Do you think they deserve to be banned?
Yes because they already have like practice at the game before it even came out and it illegal to get illegal copies so they would be breaking the law

How long would be justice? I don’t think forever but just for like a couple of weeks

ReplyDeleteI feel that the banning is a good idea. pirating is stealing, and stealing should be punished. But i don't think that the ban should be permanent. When you steal something you don't go to jail for ever, you stay there for a period amount of time, then you're out. So I am for the ban, but not forever.
They are using their consoles in order to buy pirated versions of games. I believe that they should be punished for this. I think that these gamers should be banned for a couple of months. And, yes this will help reduce the number of pirated games.

Kelsey W. (1st Hour)- The users were banned from using Xbox Live because they altered their consoles in order to play pirated versions of games. I think that the people who use illegal versions of this game should be banned; I think that’s actually letting them off easy because piracy is a federal crime and they aren’t prosecuted. I think that they should be banned for life because they committed the crime and there is a large possibility that they would disregard the law again. I think that this will help reduce the number of pirated games because all users consoles will be monitored and action will be taken to rid Xbox Live of some crime.

Recently Microsoft announced that one million XBox memebers are banned from playing for an unknown amount of time for altering their consoles in order to play pirated versions of games.I think that these people should be banned for a every long time.Microsoft has not said how long they will be banned but justice says,"This is a ban on the Xbox Live service as a whole, so you won't be able to go online at all during your ban. Initially, you may be banned for a day, a week, or depending on severity, permanently!" I think banning this people that it will reduce the number of pirated games.
ReplyDeleteBennett K- first hour. People are being banned for violating the terms of use policy by xbox and stealing games off of pirated sights. I do believe they should be banned because they made and agreement with xbox and they did not hold up to it. It should be a life time ban because they are stealing from businesses and can also ruin the chances for other players. I think it will help reduce number of pirated games because people would be worried about downloading pirated games.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all Microsoft has banned as many as a million players from Xbox Live for altering their consoles in order to play pirated versions of games.Therefore i agree that they should be punished because they are abussing the system. Even though Microsoft has not anounced how long they will be banned, i would say they should be banned for at most a month, therfore kids who are addicted to the game will learn what they did was wrong! I honestly don't think it will reduce the amount of pireted games because kids who are dumb enough will just do it agian even though it was wrong!!

Some others are also getting banned for profanity, racism, and for just being a poor sport. I believe all of the people who play pirated games should be banned. Also, all of the people who use racial terms. I think one week to a month would be justice for people who use bad language. However, people who download illegal conent should be punished more. Maybe six months to a year! Yes, I believe taking action will help decrease the number of problems. However, i dont believe it will ever STOP!
Players are being banned because they are altering thier consoles so they can play pirated versions of games. I thnk all the players who were doing can be banned for the time being, i would make them pay a fine so that in some point in time they can play online again. they atleast payed for online.I dont think this will stop poeple from pirateing games. Players want the games however they can get them. They should have strikes. If they keep on doing it then they coulc be banend for life.

I think that if it were just a few people doing this it wouldn't be a huge problem, but since so many people are doing this, then they should be banned. I think depending on how many games have been pirated by each person, but overall if they get caught then they should be banned anywhere from six months to a year, but if it keeps occurring then they should be banned for life. If Microsoft keeps banning people for pirated games then it will decrease the number of pirated games.

It is wrong to do it but I honestley dont think it will help reduce any thing because there is always a way around it.

ReplyDeleteThe Player are banned from xbox live because simply modded there xbox 360's to download pirated versions of games, I do think they should be banned from using xbox live i think that 90 days should be justice enough but the second time they do it they should be banned from xbox live forever. I do think that this will reduce the number of pirated games until someone cracks the system and finds a way around it

I think they deserve to be banned, you steal from a store, you are never allowed there again. I think they should be banned for life. No, they will still play and download the games, but they will not play it online.

I totally think that this punishment is fare because they should have to pay for it just like everyon else. I think an appropriate time to ban from Xbox live is one year since that is how long they pay fifty dollars to use the program. In my opinion, this will reduce the number of people using pirated versions of games because a year is a long time to be banned and it will cost them their fifty dollars.

- No, i dont think that they should be banned because it is a game and they should allow everone to play. Some people got their XBox as a gift, and the parents couldnt afford XBox live, and they want to play with others.

I don't think they should be banned because I think that people should be able to play whatever version of the game they are most comfortable with. In this case it is the pirated version. I don't think its that big of a deal. People do it with lime-wire all the time and you don't hear about anyone getting in trouble for that. I don't think they should be banned. I think it will reduce the number of pirated games. If a few people are gonna get in trouble for it, I don't think other people will continue to do it so they don't get banned from the game too.

The game console is designed to not allow the gamer to play pirated games but some of the individuals changed their consoles so it allows the game to be played. I think one month is enough to be banned for the first time and if they do it again then they should be banned forever. I don't think it will reduce the number of people putting the pirated games up for dowload but I think it might deter people from actually downloading it.

Its not fair that some people payed for the game and some didn't. They would probably ban them no longer than a year. It might be shorter. I think it will because a bunch of people play xbox live and they don't want to lose that privelage.

If they werent supposed to be played, why were they made in the first place? If people get caught, I think they should be banned for a week and then if caught again, a month. no they schould have people on oline 18 or older to mbe play on line. a kid vs a adult on line the adult cloud do bad things to the kid. kids and play on line with out a prient look on the Tv. alutds should play thire own age groups. in a week with you pay for it. with you do not pay for it that mouth you should not be a online. you have mouthely bill and you have to pay for it.
yes so they are sold to the right age group in the stors. stores should chick the person son ID to see they are 17 or up to get rated M games. parntes should not let their child to play rate M games to thier 17th birthday.

Millions of users have been banned from using XBox and XBox Live because of it. I think they deserve to be banned because they are costing the companies that make the games lots of money and its not fair just like illegally downloading music. The amount of time that they are being banned for differs with severity. Sometimes it could be a day, a week, or forever. However, people can still play their offline games so I don't think its a big punishment. I think people will still continue to pirate games because the punishment isn't big enough.

I think they deserve to be banne dbecause its illigal to get pirated movies so why do it with video games?
